Soviet Pie was formed in October 2003 by Access to Music
Students George Nolan, James Steed, Conor Robb and Rich
Dando. The band originally just jammed about but the arrival
of the bass expertise of Rich Dando made the band complete.
The band played their first gig as Soviet Pie at Peggars
Pub in Nottingham. Since forming the band has played 11
gigs with their new bassist at venues in Lincoln and Sleaford.
The bands style can be classed as either progressive metal
or as the band like to call it "piecore metal". The band
has supported bands such as A Case Of Grenada, Flames, Lights
and Sparks, Dopamine, 3rd place runners up in the UK battle
of the bands competition, Feedback and the band is soon
to be supporting Unsanctum.
The band experiment with different styles of metal ranging
from Power metal to slow doom metal. The band like their
music to have a lot of double bass kick pedal in it and
to have a lot of chugging guitar riffs with power metal
style melodies on top of it.
