One.Word.Ppoem is an original alternative three piece which
blends musical inspirations from, Radiohead, Interpol, Jeff
Buckley to The Mars Volta.
The band got together in the winter of 2003 with Charlie
Johns, Alex Robinson and Hugh Cowling. They were already
good friends and had been in various bands together before
they decided to take their music one step further. Their
raw, experimental sound was called, One.Word.Poem.
After a few months of writing and practicing, thanks to
Eustacia Vye, the band got their first gig at the Duke of
Wellington as a support act. Since then Steve Hawkins has
asked One Word Poem back a number of times supporting bands
such as, The Brakes, Solanoid and The Others.
This Autumn One.Word.Poem will be recording their first
E.P. with the help of Mark Newell. Hopefully, this will
give the band their chance to be noticed and to move onto
bigger and better things.
