Firin' Blanx first started jamming together in the drummer's
bedroom doing a few covers and a few of their own material.
Only when Kurt Colman (bass and background vocals) joined
did the band become more serious. Adding to the line up
was a guy who goes by the name of Mork who started doing
vocals. Mork and Kurt later left the band. Kurt was replaced
by Alex Corbett who joined the band playing their first
gig at The Bivouac supporting Mad Crowd Disease and Scunthorpes
One Car Pile-up. This led to playin a few more gigs around
Lincoln, Hull and Scunthorpe.
Later Kurt re-joined the band leaving the current line
up of Matt Hendry (rhythm guitar, vox) Luke Shelbourn (lead
guitar, background vocals) Kurt Colman (bass, screams) and
Dom Cleall - Harding (drums, oi's!)
As the Punk Rockers Live E.P will NOT be for sale, for
one simple reason it wasnt upto scratch, there are songs
on the website (www.firinblanx.cjb.net)
which you can download. There's also a guestbook - we want
your thoughts, pics and biogs etc.
Firin' Blanx style is faced past punk rock with a mix
of chugging hardcore riffs and lead parts. ocasionally a
bit of ska is thrown in there for good measure with the
walking bass lines, gravelly vocals with a few screams all
in there to top it off. Bands main influences are Rancid,
Leftover Crack, Anti Flag, nofx, F Minus, Sick Of It All
and AC/DC. In the future Firin' Blanx are looking to be
recording their E.P with 5 or 6 songs on. Currently writing
new songs heading in the more hardcore direction, gradually.
Hopefully got a few gigs lined up around Lincoln, Rotherham,
Nottingham and Sheffield - trying to play as many gigs as
possible, anywhere!
