Skyhaze - Dawn Of The Vetala25.04.09 Steve Cowan has recently finished a new Skyhaze mini album. Entitled 'Dawn of the Vetala', it is available as a free download at myspace.com/therealskyhaze. This is the first Skyhaze project for some time as Steve has been busy with his other projects including the recently demised FearOfHatred and The Naira Project.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


Scorpion Rehearsal Studios24.04.09 Scorpion Studios on Allenby industrial estate (end of Monks Road), offers affordable rehearsal and recording rooms. Bivouac20.04.09 Hot BC have been added to the bill at The Bivouac (Miller's Arms) this coming Saturday (May 25th). They join headliners This City (from Brighton and recently signed to Epitaph) and Tripdown Project.


Dancing Lotus20.04.09 Dancing Lotus are no longer playing at The Engine Shed this Friday (24th May). DUe to unforeseen circumstances they won't be on the bill which still includes Taio Cruz and Sway. There will also be a number of DJ's on the night.


Knock Out Kaine20.04.09 Knock Out Kaine are through to the finals of the Battle For Bloodstock competition which is being held at Yardbirds in Grimsby on Saturday May 9th. As with the semi finals they are putting on mini buses for anyone who wants to attend. Cost of entry is £4 and return ticket on one of the minibuses £4. The Charge19.04.09 The Charge have a new drummer. Chris Naughton has become the newest member. Alex from The Charge says "He is a fantastic drummer with a wealth of experience. His contribution and vision for music is already paying dividends towards the bands new material. The Jolly Brewer19.04.09 This year's Beltaine Bash takes place at The Jolly Brewer on Monday 4th May (Bank Holiday). So far bands lined up to play include: Hyper Snyper, DeTonal State, Syren, Reasons For Rumours and Bullet Proof


Eastroad18.04.09 Eastroad's move to the capital a couple of years back appears to be paying dividends. So far this year they are down to play three festivals, as well as frequent gigs around London, including The Borderline and The Betsy Trotwood for Alan McGee. You can catch up with the guys at Strummer Camp 2009, Guilfest (third time they've appeared at this festival) and a return visit to this year's Glastonbury. Phostonise15.04.09 Doomy alternative metal project Phostonise have an EP available. Having taken two years from conception to completion, the guys are pleased with the result, which can be downloaded for free at their myspace site (myspace.com/phostonise)


Webstock Fundraiser14.04.09 The Brewer Community Arts Group ran a three day digital festival in July last year streamed live from the beer garden at the Jolly Brewer. "It was an epic weekend and all the musicians involved received a dvd of their performance to use for demo purposes." They had approx 4000 hits on our sites and the festival was viewed in Germany, Spain, Ireland and throughout England. The BCAG hope to repeat the Webstock experience in July this year.

To this end they are running a fundraising gig upstairs at the Duke of Wellington, 15th May 2009 with 3 quality acts IO (formerly Soundforge), Diamond El Fonsbrook and the Dead Baby Parade and the mighty Jon Gomm headlining. Tickets are only £5:00 and can be purchased on the door on the evening. Doors open at 7: 30

CD Fair12.04.09 CD and Record Fair next Saturday (18th April). The fair might be the place to pick up those "hard to find vinyls, or that tune you just heard on the radio! Records and CD's from 50p to £50!"

Bivouac 11.04.09 PLEASE NOTE: The Brakes gig scheduled for this evening at The Knight's Building has been relocated to The Miller's Arms. Due to an issue with the college principal, the event could not go ahead at the original venue, so Steve at Bivouac has re-located the gig to ensure it goes ahead. Same bands (Brakes, The Voluntary Butler Experience, Joe Actually and The Mark 9's), just a different venue.


Gutshot06.04.09 Gutshot, the new six piece punk outfit featuring ex and current members of Escape From This and Chain Gangs amongst others have a number of gigs lined up. They are playing in a forthcoming Battle Of The Bands (21 Apr), supporting The Shuffle from Macclesfield (24 Apr) at The Millers and Rogues Nightclub in Horncastle (3rd Jun). Aurora Promotions presents...05.04.09 The heats of the Aurora promoted Big Bang Bad Competition are over, with all semi-final places won. Sat 18th Apr sees Dirty As Muck, I Did Last Night , DefNation, Curse and Bruce Tality battle it out for a place in the final. The following Saturday (25th) sees Kallous, When The Button Switches, Industry, Root and Last Promise vie for the final positions. The Final will take place on Saturday 9th May. Dana Wylie03.04.09 The Dana Wylie Band are returning to Lincoln to play The Jolly Brewer on Saturday May 9th. They were based near Stamford for a couple of years though they've spent most of the last couple of years touring in Canada and Asia.
