Dan Smith - RIP
Nightvision are saddened to announce that founder member and former Bass player and Lead Vocalist Dan Smith has died. Dan had major heart surgery in recent years but was apparently in good health and his death last week was unexpected and has come as a great shock to his family and friends.
Dan was an amazing guy and played and taught a wide range of instruments including, guitar, bass, drums, keyboards and trumpet and also was an accomplished vocal coach. Those that remember Dan from the early days of Nightvision will always remember his fantastic and very individual slap bass playing style.
Dan who first met Nightvision’s Bolda and Daryl as Bolda’s guitar tutor, was an inspirational influence on them both and has followed the band’s progress since he moved out of the area in 2004 and in his words ‘ I feel like a proud uncle’ when he heard the recent news of Nightvision signing with Rocksector Records.
He will be missed by all associated with Nightvision but never forgotten.
