31.01.09 Dancing Lotus headline a charity gig in aid of The Institute For Cancer Research at The Mezz Bar this coming Friday (6th Feb) (Facebook event listing here). Support comes from The Joe Mac Band, Guerillla Radio and The Interpreters. Doors open at 8.00 tickets are £5.00 on the door or £3.00 in advance from the Mezz Bar).

29.01.09 The Band From County Hell will be supporting Stiff Little Fingers at the Engine Shed in March. The gig is to take place on Sun 22nd. the following night they'll be in Nottingham at Rock City, again with SLF. For full gig information go to www.myspace.com/bfch

29.01.09 Nightvision update:
"We have now got the full line up sorted for Nightvision's 'As The Lights Go Down' album launch gig to be held in conjunction with Aurora Promotions at The Duke of Wellington on Monday 6th April. Nightvision will be joined by Welsh original classic rock band Decadenze who are also signed to Rocksector Records and can be checked out on www.myspace.com/decadenze . The lineup is completed by locally based Phoenician with their distinctive mix of hard rock/blues sound. Have a listen on www.myspace.com/phoenicianuk . With experienced professionals Chris Stubley providing the sound and Richard Smith controlling the lighting and three superb bands this will be a show not to be missed. RaW kicks off 2009 with a new monthly night at The Cheltenham (Shotz) on Guildhall Street, Lincoln, last Thursday of every month. 1st one is this Thursday 29th January with RaW’s DJ Martin fronting his band Free Salute. The Torn from Gainsborough are the out of town guests with Lincoln band Mute 1st on. Next date is 26th February with 1st gig alert from Lincoln’s The Shambolics with other Lincoln band I Did It Last Night, out of town TBC… Free Entry too

26.01.09 Lincoln collective Twin Lizard (Version 4) have just released a five track EP. Entitled "Silent Britain" its available as a free download from their site. 26.01.09 Eibon La Furies have been picked (out of hundreds) to be part of the first Metalfest unsigned competition. This will put them on stage with the likes of Omnium Gatherum and Primordial at the JBs venue in Birmingham to open the festival!
All you need to do is vote for Eibon la Furies to play Metalfest from any Myspace pages you have access to!!!
Go to the band's picture and enter the comment 'Vote' for that band.

24.01.09 There's an acoustic punk night at the recently re-opened Horse and Groom tonight (24th Jan). Featuring Foxes Faux (from Keighley) with support from Eddie O'Dwyer, Robbo and Frontline frontman Bilboa. It starts at 7.30 and a £2.00 donation is requested.

20.01.09 This Thursday (22 Jan) sees the last ever "Pillow Sessions" at The Mezz Bar. As always, Dancing Lotus headline, with support coming from The Rileys (London), Switchy B and Gavin Kemp (Norwich). CDs will be available on the night and the guys are also launching their video.

20.01.09 This Friday (23rd Jan) Dirty As Muck will be releasing their second EP. Entitled 'Tales Of A Small City' it was recorded with Steve Hawkins at I.C.E Studios. 19.01.08 Electronic hard rock outfit Industry have a number of gigs around the country. They're playing The Gasworks in Bradford at the end of this month followed by a session on the Mix (6th Feb) and more out of town gigs including Leeds and Leicester. 18.01.09 The Frontline are currently putting together a European Tour. A number of dates have already been confirmed with more to follow. 13.01.09 Nightvision can now confirm that their debut album 'As The Lights Go Down' will be released on Rocksector Records on 6th April and will be available through major retail and online stores. The album will be officially launched with a three band gig to be held in co-operation with Aurora Promotions at The Duke of Wellington on Monday 6th April. 12.01.09 As previously mentioned Gabi and Sarge will be running The Horse & Groom again. The re-opening night is 23rd January and will feature Tiger Warsaw, Bruce-Tality, A Copse, Winter Cinematic and Red Chapter. It will be free entry and it'll all kick off around 7.30

12.01.09. Watch out for the new EP from Horncastle based Tripswitch. Due for release soon, the band, who have recently augmented their sound with a new member (making them a five-piece) will be playing at the Duke of Wellington this coming Saturday (17th Jan). 12.01.09 Grimsby based rock band The Ram Raid have recently released their first CD EP. Called "Nothing" its available through their myspace (myspace.com/theramraid) and at gigs. The band are playing at the LA Cafe in Grimsby on 27th January and 10th February.

07.01.09 Long standing metal outfit FearOfHatred have called it a day. FoH started in 2005 as a project of the prolific Steve Cowan, and returned to playing live last year as a fully fledged band, The split was amicable and Steve, Craig and ICE will now be concentrating on A Blackened Soul

05.01.09 After the festive break we're back. Look forward to some LB based events this year. We're starting off the year with a milestone though. Today sees the 100th gig review posted on the site. Submitted by our mainstay reviewer, Pete, its a fine (if I say so myself) review of The Blanks at the Biv last Friday.
