31.12.07 Pete, the ubiquitous photographer has seemingly branched out. He has produced a video for Joe Mac's Grow Up Let Down Swing track (taken from The Bedsit Glamour), The filming, which was done in Lincoln, encountered a few problems, namely security guards and freezing fingers. The video which is now up on the LincolnBands YouTube and can also be found on Pete's YouTube . |

28.12.07 Hoping that you all had a good Christmas and are now looking forward to the New Year. After the somewhat low key ending to 2007, 2008 is starting to look promising for Lincoln. Sheffield/Lincoln based Flatlands embark on a weeks tour in March, The Living Daylights go out in January. Kallous have a comprehensive list of gigs up already, as do Sevenday Weekend, Abi Moore and White On White. There's the promise of a second MezzFest brought to you by Raw, Aurora Promotions have stacks of shows lined up at the Travs. And The Engine Shed is coming good with Reverend & The Makers, The Pigeon Detectives and The Twang, to name a few. King Creosote are at The Drill Hall and we're sure the Biv will release a full programme soon. A Happy and successful new year to you all |

26.12.07 Drive By Theory have reformed and are writing material. They play the first of their "comeback" gigs with a show at The Bivouac on 4th Jan, playing alongside Toxic Grafitti, Tiny Cities and Collisions And Consequences. 22.12.07 The Frontline have some new tracks up on myspace.com/thefontlineuk. The tracks are taken from their forthcoming debut album "Off The Rail" due out early in the New Year. The guys are out and about next year playing in Macclesfield, Hull, Norwich and Donny. They've got a couple of home town gigs lined up, one at the Library Bar (21/1), and one at The Duke (23/2)

19.12.07 This Saturday (22nd) sees another outing for band mates LiveRiot and Park Bench Theory. This time its LiveRiot's turn to support on PBT's turf at The Cherry Tree Inn, Cherry Willingham for the lads' Christmas Party. Doors 8pm and its free entry. LiveRiot have been busy mixing down their soon to be released 10 track live recording from the last time the two bands played at Stags Head early November. 17.12.07 Kennel Records is a new local record label working directly from and for the Black Dog in Grantham. They work closely with Black Dog Bands, and they help promote each other. Stuart from Kennel Records says "Basically we want to promote and release music from aroundthe area and put this place on the music map were it should be. there are so many bands who work so hard and dont get the chance to release or tour and we wanna change it. any one interested in doing this should contact us." 15.12.07 Its never good news when we hear of a Lincoln bands splitting up, but its even more shocking when its a band like The Rays. The five piece have decided to call it a day and concentrate on other projects. In their two and a half years together, they made a lot of friends (to whom The Rays would like to extend their thanks for their loyal support) and played some prestigious gigs. The guys would also like to raise a glass to the local musicians who they’ve had the pleasure to get to know. Good luck guys in all future projects. The Rays farewell performance will be Saturday 22nd Dec at The Mezz bar, and will be your last opportunity to see them playing live. |

11.12.07 If you were wondering what became of Depol, then listen up. After splitting up in December last year, they've reformed. They've decided to start over and as a result have dropped nearly all of their old material and the name as well! They have a couple of warm up gigs, private, at the end of January after which they'll be well and truly back on the Lincoln circuit with loads of new material (and a new name!) to excite and entertain you all. |

03.12.07 The Idlers are releasing a double A side on Monday 10th December entitled 'Momentum/Silhouettes'. The two tracks were again recorded at 2Fly Studios in Sheffield. The band are releasing a limited number of 500 CD copies of the single, which also be available to download from all the usual places. To launch the CD, the band are playing the Bivouac this Friday 7th December, with good friends Aurora Stripe, The Reportage, and Bracelet (Charlie Johns acoustic). 02.12.07 Gringo Star (Psych rock four-piece from Atlanta, Georgia, USA) are playing Bar LN2 this coming Tuesday 4th Dec). It's the only date on the UK leg of the tour that is free entry. 02.12.07 The full line up for the four heats of Aurora Promotions Big Bang Band Competition is now available on Dawn's site (myspace.com/dawnstephenson). Commencing on Sat 19th Jan the heats run for four weeks. The semi's and final is later follows a few weeks later. Aurora have already got a busy year planned with rock, metal, punk and indie nights at The Travs. |
