More Big Wellies
30.10.06:onebigwellingtonboot are proud to confirm the line up for their next gig
this Saturday night ( 4th November) at the Travellers Rest, Canwick Road, Lincoln. As usual the line up features a mix of interesting bands/solo
artists from the USA and closer to home. Headlining are "COUGHS" who have
released two albums on the Mighty Load record label (home to the most
prominent underground American bands such as Lightning Bolt, USA Is A Monster and Yellow Swans) and support comes from Nottingham experimentalist,"Forest", Leeds band "Monster Killed By Lazer", Lincoln's very own genius
"Dan Svarc" and locals "Tiger Warsaw" feat members of Stabbed In Autumn, the Elusive Mr Hunt and the Eccentrics! Doors are at half six and entry is five
pounds. If your a fan of noisey punk, underground metal, electronica or just
generally something different then this gig is for you! More details can be found

Bravekid Metal
28.10.06: Bravekid continue to bring in bands from far and away. The next BKM gig is on November 10th at The Traveller's during which local bands will be joined by Austrian metallers Jakuzi's Attempt. For full details check out the press release.

DeTonal State - Unleashed
25.10.06: If you haven't already heard one of Lincoln's premier metal bands are back.
Now a five piece and with a much heavier sound the guys are playing with Dry Kill Logic at the Bivouac
on Wednesday 8th November. The line up now consists of Dan Parker - Guitar,
Mark Leary - Guitar,
Adam Froggatt - Drums,
Leigh Edlin - Vocals (formerly of ATROPINE) and
Carl Maltby - Bass. DS hav had a tough year losing both Laurie and Tim but Mark says that they're excited and pleased with the way their sound is evolving. Further info at www.detonalstate.com

theRAYS at "In The City"

The Siren Sessions
24.10.06: Received the following from Andy, the producer at Siren Sessions:
The Siren Sessions is a new programme on Lincoln University's student
radio station Siren FM. So far we've recorded the likes of the Cooper
Temple Clause, Battle and New Rhodes, but we're also looking for local
bands to feature on upcoming shows. If you're available to come in to
our studios to record an acoustic session (2 or more songs), please

The Next Big Thing
24.10.06: The search is on. The Next Big Thing is the BBC's hunt for the WORLD’S BEST YOUNG BAND. If that’s you, we'll make you famous.
The rules are easy - you must be unsigned, be aged 18 or under, write your own material and your music must be brilliant.
All you need to do is send us your one best track by Friday 3rd November.
Songs will be judged by a panel from the music industry as well as BBC listeners.
And a star-studded final will be broadcast on BBC World Service on Saturday 9th December.
To be the WORLD’S BEST YOUNG BAND send us your tracks by Friday 3rd November.

Council are running to see what facilities are available across the country for the live arts. If anyone is running rehearsal or recording spaces in the county
can they get in touch with Maurice with all their details and he will add them onto the
existing list.

Live No More @ Old Nick's
10 Oct 06: Old Nick's Tavern in Horncastle, which over the past few years has seen a lot of local bands play has had to put a stop to live music. Apparently the local council has applied so many rules and regulations, that it has become impractical for Old Nick's to continue as a live venue. It will be sadly missed. And to the local council: Good One!

Flatlands Tour and EP
07 Oct 06: Flatlands embark on a ten date tour, with Narwhal from London (www.myspace.com/voyageofthenarwhal). The tour kicks off on 19th October at The Cricketer's Arms in Sheffield and takes in Newcastle, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester amongst others (for full details visit Flatlands website www.flatlandstouristboard.co.uk or myspace www.myspace.com/flatlandstouristboard. The guys are also releasing a new six track EP, entitled Vermuyden on October 23rd. The launch party for the EP is mid tour at The Cell in Lincoln on Monday 23rd October, where you'll also be able to pick up new shirts, new badges, new and old CDs. The Jackals
03 Oct 06: Young Five piece outfit from Metheringham, The Jackals are playing at RAW next Wednesday (4th October), alongside Great British Smile and Seretone.
Guitarist Simon Aldersey says "My all time hero is probably Jimi Hendrix but as a
band we like the Rolling Stones and The Who. We prefer to play all our own songs and we`re a classic rock and roll band with a bit of blues thrown in as well." Simon and fellow band members Ben Byatt (Lead vocals), Guy Goodwin (Bass), Aaron Walker (Drums) and Chris Ullyatt (Guitar) recently won through to semi finals of the Theatre Royal/Lincolnshire Echo/Radio Lincolnshire WOW Factor music competition. They have a number of recent gigs under their belt including: Metheringham Feast, The Lincoln Imp Scunthorpe, Old Nick`s, Horncastle,

Peel Night
02 Oct 06: Thursday 12th October, 2006 is Peel Night. The night is presented to you in conjunction with Lincoln’s finest promoters who have joined forces to celebrate what will be arguably one hell of night of diverse music celebrating the life and in memory of the passing of John Peel radio one dj and youth icon. This brain child of Chris, from Simply Chris Like, brings together, Simply Brave Promotions, Escalator, Angamanagement, Delirious, LincolnBands.co.uk and Christopher’s, who are all donating their resources and time free of charge to ensure that all the proceeds raised for the night can go to a good cause, being the NSPCC. After all john peel was the voice of youth culture!
Live music for the night will be provided, in no particular order, by :
Liveriot
The Wreckset
Eccentrics
Lost hearts
Lipstick entourage
Bands will play throughout the night and tikcets, which are £3.00 will be limited.

Mullfest 06
02 Oct 06: "Mullfest" wants you, on the 16th of December Mull (from TOMA) is holding, in conjunction with Simply Brave Promotions, an all dayer of bands at the Travellers Rest. Twelve bands for five pounds plus a special headliner who will be announced right at
the last minute, but you will not want to miss them.
There will be a mix of unsigned, signed, local and out of town bands Mull/SBP still have four spaces left for local bands so please get in touch either by
emailing or adding Mull through (www.myspace.com/mullfest) or
