Raw Pics
07 Sept 06:Pete went along to The Cell on Wednesday...
"Chris and Ian at Raw have now commandeered the Cell and it was pay
three quid to get in the door. Exceptional value though considering it
bought you six performances and seems Lincoln music fans knew that cos
they crowded in. Acoustic sets downstairs overlap the electric stage
upstairs - handily the ceiling mounted monitors give a live view of the
first floor stage so you can make your move when the band walks on
stage. Surprises of the night for me were solo artist Val and then
rockers Lipstick Entourage who delivered their set with incredible
verve. Sound was absolutely top class, something to be so grateful
for! Thank you, Nathan! Headliners IWACS seemed somewhat restless
perhaps even discontented at times during their set - I'm not sure what
the problem was - but even so to hear them perform was to experience
that simple happiness of acknowledging something really special was
happening right in front of you, here in a tiny local venue to less
than a hundred people - and not in a field with sixty thousand in front
of you and a distant stage half a mile away. This was RAW pop power up
close and personal. Sensational."
