IMyBike Pics
29 Aug 06: Pete has been snapping away again, this time in Sleaford, he says of I My Bike:
"I made it to a venue that is always included on the Lincoln Bands gigs
page but one I've only visited for the first time - The Penthouse in
Sleaford. I was there to catch IMYBIKE and they were sure worth the
trip. Despite repeated mic failures during the first song they
restarted each time from where they left off and soon built up an
unstoppable momentum of weird and wonderful material. Each band member
seems to be performing full on but independently of anyone else - yet
all their sounds collide and fuse into something bigger in some
undeniably hot and interesting way. ILIKETHEM. Some photos online at
www.shine.clara.co.uk/gigs webspace."

Anyone remember Paragon
26 Aug 06: Had an email from Hugh Jones, guitarist with Paragon. For those of you who remember, Paragon used to play quite a bit at the Falcon and around town, before relocating to York. Currently on hiatus after playing with the likes of The Subways and getting label interst, the guys are looking into the possibility of playing in Lincoln over Christmas.
Hugh and Guy (drummer from Paragon) have formed a 'spin-off' band called Caligari which draw more influence from experimental and electro genres. The plan was/is to sound a mix of NIN, Garbage, a perfect circle, Efterklang, Portishead and Placebo. Hugh now lives in Copenhagen and split gigs between here and (soon) Lincoln (and other UK cities) and together with Guy writes music when not together over the net sending files and adding to each others work.
They are hoping to make a big name for themselves in Copenhagen but don't want to forget that we are from Lincoln and still want to gig there with Caligari and Paragon when the chance is available. Check out the following sites for more info:

The Digger Movement
22 Aug 06: We received the following from John Winstanley, that we can't help with at the moment, but wondered if there are any promoters ad/or bands that might be able to help.
"I represent a group of bands known as the Digger Movement and we are looking to tour and spread our message and principles and your email via NWB's struck a chord with us.
One of our members - Colorpool is managed by the owner of a club in Lincoln and the band have played to a sell out crowd there earlier this year.We woud like to consider dates in Mid/late November as we are going to stage a major publicity campaign around In The City [Manchester] in late October and a tour the other side of it is on our agenda.
In turn we would like to invite your band[s] to local gigs will be planning to arrange through people we know in Manchester, Liverpool, Blackburn, Accrington. Chorley, Burnley, Sheffield, Preston,Rhyl,Barrow-In-Furness and Blackpool - have a look at the bands on my site www.a3hpromotion.co.uk and you can down load some of their tracks from a CD I released in May which features other bands who I have promoted at one particular venue. For Kai Silva material visit www.myspace.com/a3hpromotion"

Live And Original
21 Aug 06: If you've never seen a band at the Theatre Royal, now's your chance. I've had the pleasure on a number of occasions and its an excellent venue (although seated) to watch a band. Big enough for a decent sized band but intimate enough to see and hear everything that's going on. So when is it? What is it? Well The Theatre Roayl and Ex White Room Music Owner Kevin Brandon-Snell have got together to bring you a rather special night. The event is called "Live and Original at The Theatre Royal", its on
28th September 2006 and there's five bands playing (
Vinyl Collide,
The Rays,
White on White,
The Small Print and
Cantigas. Its an all ages event and tickets (which are £6.00) can be bought from the Theatre Royal box office.
Addendum: Since closing White Room, Kevin Brandon-Snell along with Chris Edwards of
White on White has set up Clarity Sound Systems -check out their MySpace:/www.myspace.com/claritysoundsystems - and Studio 134
which provides Drum, Guitar, Bass, Vocal and Keyboard tuition - the contact
number for this is the same. He is also doing band management for White on
White, who I hear, are currently recording their debut album

Bands for Clockworx in Hull
07 Aug 06: Got the following that might be useful to bands out there.
Jamie promotes 'Clockworx' at The Silhouette Nightclub, Hull (http://www.myspace.com/hullucinations) Any bands interested in gigs in the coming months. Clockworx has its own P.A and it may be possible to use another bands kit to save on travel expenses. The only drawback is that you'll probably
only get paid in beer as this is a good opportunity for yourselves to
showcase your talent in a nightclub and not just a pub. If the turnout is
over 150-200 then I'm sure a fee will be given. COntact Jamie through his myspace http://www.myspace.com/hullucinations
