Save The Farm - Benefit gig
30 Nov 05: Don't know how many of you
have managed to get across to The
Farm in Chapel St Leonards, but its an ace venue, with
excellent facilities for both outside events and indoors.
Apparently there is a bit of an issue over the lease and so
the (cool) people that run the place are putting on a two
day benefit gig over the weekend of 10/11th December. There's
a whole host of bands already booked with more to follow.
B-Movie Heroes, The Melt, Crypsis, Stranded,
The Wasp Factory, The What, Detonal State, Blacklight,
Desert Storm, Gimble, Dan Hicken, Dick Appleton, Jack &
Mick Broadbent, Girl's Like Ponies, Flame On Fire, Fatal Design.
Get along if you can and do your bit to help save this excellent
venue. We'll get the bands added to the gig list when we find
out what days they are playing on

The Straightmen on Thisisull.com

27 Nov 05: The Straightmen have got themselves
a bit of a write up on the rather fabulous thisisull.com,
in advance of their forthcoming gig at the Ringside. You can
check out the write up here
and why not have a look round the site while you're there,
it's got so much of interest on it. Look out for a few more
joint "ventures" in the future. Also well worth
checking out the review of The Saved on the site.

CockYerLeg update
27 Nov 05: Cockyerleg, who have been
worryingly absent from the scene for the past few months are
in the middle of some major changes, not least deciding on
a new name (all suggestions welcome). Guitarist Rory McKane
has parted company with the band and they are desperately
searching for a replacement to get straight back into gigging
as much as possible and songwriting. I'm aware that this sort
of thing usually goes on the "Wanted" pages, but
as a number of people have asked about CYL, we thought that
it was pretty news-worthy. For the full ad with details of
what the band are looking for see Wanted

and competition from the Delph gig - a fair few people turned
up at Sugarcubes
to witness the first of the club's new series of live events.
Knock Out Kaine and [starter]
both put on a great show, photos of which can be seen at Pete's
gig photo's website, as always well worth checking out.

Electric PR News - Bio Writing Special Offer
12 Nov 05:
Wanna sell your band’s sound but don’t know
what to write? Between now and Xmas, Electric
PR are offering to write or update your bio for just £50
per band. Why? Because we work for major and indie labels
that swear by a good introduction to a band and by our nature
we insist on writing good stuff. So if you can get by with
name, influences and wish list then you don’t need us, but
if you fancy taking a chance and unleashing the true nature
of your band in more than 15 words, then us and labels are
all ears! Although it’s out of most bands’ budget, we are
offering the deal of a lifetime by slashing the cost of bio
writing by about 90%! After writing, and if you are happy
with it, the copyright and content is all yours. You can cut
and paste around your website, your news bulletins and your
MySpace®/Wild Plum accounts. The possibilities are endless.
You can pay by PayPal© and away you go! Start tempting the
labels now! Give us what you've got and tell us what you want
here bandbio@electric-pr.co.uk

Electric PR News
12 Nov 05: My clients are always looking
for new bands to get into (and hopefully sign).
At the moment the scene is changing and 2 of
my clients have tasked me with something which is very particular.
Read on for more info:
Electric PR says:
Rockstars Sought
Thin Lizzy, The Darkness, Led Zeppelin, Queen,
Europe, Motörhead, Scorpions, Extreme, Black Sabbath,
Guns n Roses, Motley Crüe, Foreigner, Hanoi
Rocks, and the list goes on. What do these guys have in
common? Well, as well as being awesome (and in some cases
cheesy) musicians, they have incredible frontmen. From Mercury
to Hawkins, from Kilminster to Osbourne, these guys own the
stage. Do you? Right now, were looking for bands and
especially frontmen that keep the lineage of great performance.
Newsflash: Good honest rock is coming back in
a big way and if you want a taste of the future, be a part
of it.
Do you think you have something, whatever it
is, from snakeskin pants to kickass vocals (no growlers please)
then we wanna hear from you! Send us your MP3 (links only
please) to us at Electric PR. rockstar@electric-pr.co.uk
Bullet For My Funeral For A Chemical Hawthorne
Hidden By Avenged Infadels In Sunny Day Dashboard Romance
Yes folks, you know what were talking
about: Very attractive teens and twenty-somethings struck
down by a love lost. Never fear! Electric
PR is doing a bit of a rummage for the last traces of
emo/post-hardcore harmonic rock. Do you feel categorised after
breaking up with a girl? We wanna hear from you. Do you feel
pigeon-holed for being broken-hearted? Are you desperate to
hold up a drugstore but only ever seem to do it in your mind?
If your flavour of rock is slightly seasoned with bands like
Shortie, BFMV, MCR, FFAF, Hawthorne Heights, Hidden in Plain
View and the rest then send us an MP3 link and very important,
a supporting biog/pics because we wanna mend your heart. brokenhearts@electric-pr.co.uk

Requests For Help
11 Nov 05: We've had a couple of requests
for help this week which we thought we pass on to you in the
hope that you may be able to help.
We're trying to locate Andy Dransfield for somebody
who is trying to contact him. Andy works/used to work at Chappell
- Studios. If anyone knows any contact details can you email
them in. Cheers
The following came from Aj Lornie of The Hitchcock
Rules
I am working for a Cornish band called The
Hitchcock Rules. In June 2005 the group independently released
their debut album issue #1 and have sold nearly a thousand
copies through independent outlets in the southwest. From
November the band will embark on a U.K. tour in aid to promote
their album on a national scale.
We have purposefully avoided the help of record
companies and instead are trying to set up and independent
network of artists, music outlets and local media. We are
looking for local bands in a similar situation to us to join
us on tour in each area, independent record shops and local
media coverage. Hopefully with the help of a few people in
each area, (like yourselves) we will be able to set up a productive
music community, with the ability to compete with the major
record companies.

Friday (opening night) and Sunday and include pics of The
Blueroute, Catapult, ColorPool, One.Word.Poem. As ever there

is worth nothing, Pete's site is totally recommended. Visit

New to the site
03 Nov 05: Another new reviewer for the
site - hopefully should start getting more reviews in now.
Check out Brad's
details on the reviewers page. Also at long last, the "In
The Spotlight" feature has been reinstated. But with
a difference. The scope has been widened to include promoters
and anyone connected to the industry. Kelly Saxton from Electric
PR is first up, and believe me, it's an interesting read!!

Eight Days A Week Festival - Changes?
01 Nov 05: There's been a number of rumours
flying round that there have been some line up changes to
the Eight Days A Week festival starting this Friday (4th)
at Bivouac.
We haven't been able to confirm, but it does appear that No
Comply have pulled out. Also added to the bill this Friday
is local outfit Sosumi.
This will be their first gig actually in Lincoln and judging
by the favourable comments about their downloads available
on this site, it should be well worth going to check them
out. Also on the bill are Pele, Sons
Of The South and ColorPool.
The festival is really good value for money (especially if
tyou get the All Eight Days pass - all those bands for £20).
