End Of An Era
20 June 05: The rumours regarding the
untimely demise of Foundry Crew Productions, appear to be
true. FCP, who seem to have been an integral part of the Lincoln
Scene for a long time, were responsible for putting on some
excellent gigs at the sadly defunct Falcon as well as championing
local bands, signing the likes of Owsley Sunshine to the FCP
label - not forgetting the chilled out weekends that were
Mella Yella. They will be missed. We have heard rumours of
possible new ventures from ex FCP, so watch this space.

Welcome to Knock out Kaine
12 June 05: Ok, so this is something
a bit new for LB, we don't make a habit of welcoming new bands
to the site but, in light of the furore on the Forum, regarding
their set at the Boultham Park Festival, we thought we could
redress the balance a bit. So love em or hate em (or just
don't understand them), ladies and gentlemen, we give you
Knock out Kaine.
"Knock
out Kaine are a four piece band based in Lincoln. Bored
with what we consider to be, the bland and depressing state
of the music industry at the moment, our agenda is to bring
some much needed showmanship, glamour, and OTT cliched ROCK
N ROLL!!! to the Lincoln band landscape, and then the wider
world, Don't get us wrong, we're very serious about our work,
but we do like to keep our tongues stuck firmly in our cheeks...
OOER missus!!! The band consists of Dean Foxx on vocals, Gary
Hunt on drums, Jimmy James on Lead Guitar and Vick C on the
bass. Our debut CD is in the final stages of production, i.e.
mixing and mastering, and is a 7 track affair entitled SKINSTAR.
We will keep you updated on when it will be available, how
much it will cost and where to obtain one of these beautiful
little critters. As soon as we have any more gig details for
you we will let you know. Dean and Gary are also members of
Lincoln's very own Queen tribute band MONARCHY and are under
a very heavy gigging schedule with them at the moment. Playing
all over the UK and even as far afield as Dubai in September.
Knock out Kaine have been active since March this year. All
the best from Dean, Gary, Jimmy and Vick. XX"

to use the pics, we suggest you do give him some credit/a

YoYo LiveLab
06 June 05: Yo-Yo
Indie night has been running every Saturday at The Scream
Quayside club for over 4 years, and in that time has sold
out the 450 capacity club on all but 5 Saturdays! ANdrew from
Yo-Yo says: "We have come into contact with many indie
music fans and local bands from Lincoln in that time. Many
of whom have complained that there are no, or very little
live gigs going on in the City with Nationally acclaimed bands.
So we have taken the bull by the horns so to speak and ploughed
in a lot of our own time and money into this project. We have
we have put on two live shows recently in Lincoln, the first
with the Paddingtons and the second with 10,000 Things / Fonda
500. If you came, hopefully you enjoyed them and recognised
the quality of bands, sound, production and staging etc.
We have now set up another gig on Sunday 31st July at The
Quayside starring Thee Unstrung who are signed to Alan McGee's
PopTones label. They are promoting their 3rd single release
around the time of our gig with them. Also on the bill so
far are Lincoln's own Redcoats. This level of live gig in
Lincoln gives local bands a major and vital platform on which
to perform, which at the moment, doesn't seem to exist."
