The Portland - More Punk & Metal Gigs
28 April 05: Due to the good response
through April with the Punk/Metal nights, The Portland have
asked Nath to continue these as of 16th May.
There will also be a Heavy Saturday available
on 7th May. Also there is talk of having an outside event
"on the roof" in the summer.
Unfortunately on a down side, at the recent
MCD, FIRIN BLANX, SKIN DEEP gig, there was some vandalism
outside the Portland, by those too young to get in (14+).
This has lead the management to up the age limit to 16+ for
future gigs in an effort to stop the vandalism. Nathan is
currently trying to re-negotiate the age limit, but it does
look as though these younger "fans" have shot themselves
(and others in the foot).
Any bands wanting to play on any of these nights,
or the Boultham Park Festival contact Nathan by his PM (NathanDredz
on the LB Forum) or email

Planet Of Sound presents...
27 April 05: You may have already heard
that due to circumstances beyond Vincent's control, The Selecter
are unable to play on May 20th at The Duke. But, and this
is really good news we think, he has managed to get The SubHumans
in as a replacement. The Subhumans are playing "Wasted
this year and agreed to play in little ole Lincoln as a precursor
to the punk festival in Morecombe. The Eccentrics (original
line-up) are supporting with another local band still to be
confirmed. As if this isn't enough, its only £6.00 on
the door and £5.00 if bought in advance (pop in and
see Vincent at Planet Of Sound). And just to round allthis
good news off, Vincent is still hoping to get The Selecter
back in Lincoln later in the year.

Vye is to fill the role. Also Hybrid PLC are now a two-piece,
consisting of Sworn and Machine although they will be using
a bassist for Live work.

Signal 11 - Last gig ?
11 April 05: Indie band Signal
11 are playing what could be their last gig on 17th April
at Old Nick's in Horncastle. Jim Parson, the lead singer is
emigrating to Melbourne, so unless they get offered another
gig before the end of May, the 17th could be your last chance
to catch tem in action. Their set apparently includes:accordions,
wild stares, bad French accents and electric screwdrivers,
so drop in and see them play. All welcome (and its free!).
If you can't get along to Horncastle there is an mp3 and video
of the band here.

100 times) it has come quite out of the blue. The upcoming
gig at the Shed in Lincoln has been cancelled, and although
not confirmed it is assumed that all susbsequent dates have
also been cancelled. LB wishes the band members best in any
forthcoming projects.

LMC, Foundry & Christopher's and the big
BBQ
08 April 05: OK, you've probably heard
the rumours etc going around. Due to a problem with the music
licence both The
LMC and
Foundry Crew Productions have had to cancel all forthcoming
gigs at Christopher's until the licence is sorted out with
the council. Both LMC and FCP are "gutted" but hope
to be back as soon as possible. Bands that have been booked
to play will be offered another gig once the bureaucracy is
sorted. In the meantime, there is an "all-dayer"
BBQ to be held this coming Sunday (10th April). Musicians,
fans, everybody invited. So get yourselves along - meet other
bands, show your support to both promo organisations.
